After living in Chicago for several years, we were weary of city life and decided to move out to our 150 year old stone house in Galena, Illinois.  Sensing a void for high quality home furnishings in the area, we opened Joseph Layton Antiques and Interiors in the Fall of 2006.

Located on Galena’s East side, our rambling shop is open to the public seven days a week.  Our shop features an assortment of furnishings both old and new.  Our antiques are a mixture of pieces from Asia to America and several points in between.

Our upholstery is both comfortable and classic.  We round out our offerings with fine art, lighting, tabletop, home fragrance, rugs and bedding.  To further inspire, we have a great assortment of books devoted to the home.

If you need help making your house your home, we’re here to help.  We have a workroom in which we can reupholster your existing furniture or make new window treatments.  We offer a wide variety of fine fabrics to make your selection.
